New York
Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks is putting on the show for New York for the 40th time. Over 40,000 shells will explode from five different barges along the East River for 25 minutes of breathtaking-visuals. Be part of the display by downloading an app that synchronizes your phone’s visuals with the fireworks. As always, the accompanying music is available for download; this year the musical score includes a Jennifer Holliday rendition of America the Beautiful.
Boston
If you end up in Boston for July 4th, head to the Esplanade by the Charles River for 10:30 PM to catch the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular. The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra will provide music for the show, and conclude the pyrotechnic display with dramatic drum rolls and real cannon fire. Church bells will ring to further intensify the finale. The show is planning to light 10,000 fireworks from seven different barges. Reaching heights of up to 1,500 feet in the air, the fireworks will be visible from anywhere remotely close to the river.
Las Vegas
You can always count on the City of Lights to put on an unforgettable Fourth of July performance. This year, fireworks are being set off from several locations, including the Stratosphere Casino, Caesar’s Palace, Mandalay Bay, Stations Casino, Henderson and Boulder City. Tame the Vegas heat by watching the show from on of the city’s many pool clubs. The Stratosphere’s firework show can be seen atop their 25-story Radius Rooftop Pool & Wet Lounge, which will also have a DJ spinning before and after the show.
Nashville
Celebrate Independence Day in true Nashville style, with a ton of free live music and an orchestra accompanying the firework presentation. Sheryl Crow is headlining the festivities, and you can also expect to see performances by Maddie & Tae, Erin McCarley, Andrew Combs, Ruby Amanfu, Brandy Clark, Rayland Baxter and more. The Nashville Symphony Orchestra will play along with the fireworks.
Washington
The nation’s capital puts on unforgettable Fourth of July celebrations every year. The Independence Day Parade starts on Constitution Avenue at 11:45 AM; the military style parade features marching bands, floats and VIPs, and is immensely popular with locals. Follow up the parade with the Smithsonian Folklife festival for performing dancers, storytelling and cooking demonstrations. Immediately following the Smithsonian festival are concerts, which include performances by the United States Army Band and the National Symphony Orchestra. The fireworks are set off from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool at 9:09 PM. The Washington Monument provides the ideal backdrop for 17.5-minutes of stunning visuals.
